2 Year Strategic Plan

Mission

The Mission of the North Central Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® is to strengthen the REALTOR® image and value to the community, maintain the highest standards of ethics and professionalism provide benefits to assist members in achieving professional goals and advocate for the preservation of private property rights.

Goals

 

Goal 1: Stay on target with the strategic plan.

Strategy A: Develop action plans related to the Plan’s goals and strategies with measurable results.

Strategy B: Require that the Finance Committee use the Plan to budget.

Strategy C: Provide the Board of Directors with a progress report regarding the plan at least quarterly.

Strategy D: Use the strategic plan for the AE performance review.

Strategy E: Share the Strategic Plan with the members and keep them informed regarding the progress in attaining goals.

 

Goal 2: Enhance our communication with individual members.

Strategy A: Evaluate interactive communication approaches with members.

Strategy B: Determine relevant and important content for dissemination.

Strategy C: In email correspondence sent to the members, link appropriate articles on the association’s website

Strategy D: Increase member awareness of all association meetings.

 

Goal 3: Increase the value of relationships between REALTOR® members and business partners.

Strategy A: Increase visibility and utilization of business partners by members and consumers.

Strategy B: Encourage business partners to provide more informational forums to members about their services.

Strategy C: Increase networking opportunities between business partners and REALTOR® members.

 

Goal 4: Address the association’s and members’ technology needs.

Strategy A: Establish a technology committee to evaluate needs and make recommendations for change.

Strategy B: Evaluate and improve the website continually.

Strategy C: Set up “Ask Kathy” and FAQ sections on the web site. 

Strategy D: Post all PR materials on the web site.

Strategy E: Establish or improve effectiveness of links to all member web sites.

Strategy F: Make the web site a valuable resource for the public.

Strategy G: Promote the use of member communication tools on the website, such as blogs and list servs.

 

Goal 5: Evaluate and meet member education and training needs.

Strategy A: Continue to evaluate the effectiveness of all member education programs, including the new member orientation.

Strategy B: Encourage more members to take designation courses.

Strategy C: Provide to members information on the Code of Ethics and professional practices on a regular basis.

 

Goal 6: Develop a public relations program that will strengthen the REALTOR® image.

Strategy A: Incorporate NAR’s public awareness campaign in the association’s outreach to the public.

Strategy B: Promote the REALTOR® Pride campaign within the membership.

Strategy C: Effectively utilize local newspapers’ offers of free ad space.

Strategy D: Continue to promote the community service activities of REALTOR® members.

 

Goal 7: Create a plan for developing new leaders

Strategy A:  Appoint a workgroup to review the current governance structure.

Strategy B: Increase member awareness of leadership positions and related roles.

Strategy C: Recognize existing leaders whenever appropriate.

 

Goal 8: Streamline the way the association conducts committee meetings.  

Strategy A: Explore the potential of using web or video conferencing and other technology for committee and workgroup meetings.

Strategy B: Use conference calls more frequently for committee or workgroup meetings.

Strategy C: Distribute agendas in advance to all committees.

 

Goal 9: Enhance the government affairs effort

Strategy A:  Continue to meet legislators in their district offices in addition to meeting them at the “Day on the Hill” event.

Strategy B:  Implement systems to monitor and address local issues, and ask MAR for staff support, as appropriate. 

 

Goal 10: Explore the long term facility needs of the association.

Strategy A:  Continue to identify the needs and make recommendations with timelines attached.
